Well sphinx that's a huge gamble sony's making. Sony's said it indirectly many times that the PS3 is a blu-ray player first and a console second. If they can't get consumers to jump into HD movies 3 years too soon than their in big trouble.
The desire for HD movies just isn't there. Less than 5% of households have HDTV's and that numbers gonna stay below 20% for the next 3 years. I'd say their in trouble.
In my opinion I think its best to have the latest and greatest DX9 video card from ati than have a crappy first gen DX10 that's inefficient and performs near the same.
That's just me, but I know that first gen video cards are the worst in the DX cycle. But of course this wasn't my initial reaction I had to think about it.

Yah there's quite a few problems like level boosting and cheating. That's why there will probably only be a few cross 360 to PC titles.

no it's not big news it's just a way for people to see how much their gonna actually pay. Although people who buy the PS3 at launch aren't going to care about price it's still a good heads up. Anybody could figure this out, obviously.

Now lets not all just jump on top of this rumor he's starting. For the last year Sony's said that there will be plenty of PS3's this christmas so all you'd have to do is walk into a store and buy one.
KAZ is trying to get more people to buy one at launch by saying there will be shortages. If there are than that's even better for sony but there doesn't have to be. I'll believe it when Sony states how many consoles their gonna have out at launch.
